Yale forklift before and after

While used warehouse equipment is more affordable than purchasing new equipment, if not purchased from a reputable provider, it can often cost you more in the long run. You can count on Barclay to supply the safest, most reliable products that will be matched to your materials handling application and budget. From start to finish, here’s a behind-the-scenes look at our pre-owned equipment process that explains how we source and prepare each piece of used equipment before delivery to our customer.

Our Process

Step 1: Getting the Pre-Owned Warehouse Equipment

We have a very selective process for the acquisition of used equipment. A large percentage of these machines are sourced from our rental fleet program, which means they were originally bought new and have been carefully maintained by our factory-trained technicians since that time.

The balance of our pre-owned inventory comes from customer trade-ins or sourced from lease returns from other Yale customers in the US.  We work together with our network of dealers and leasing company to find specific equipment that has typically been serviced regularly by our dealer network.

Step 2: Refurbishing the Equipment

Once we’ve got the product in our possession, we provide a clear, honest assessment of its condition. After that, there are three different refurbishment methods we use to transform equipment from a “used” into “pre-owned”: Barclay Conditioned, Rent Ready and As Is.

Barclay Conditioned Equipment

This is our most aggressive refurbishment program. These products are fully reconditioned to give you full confidence in your purchase. All Barclay Conditioned equipment comes with the following:

  • 300-point inspection
  • New tires
  • Fresh coat of paint
  • Radiator testing (for internal combustion machines)
  • Motor inspection
  • 3-day battery discharge testing with maintenance if needed (for electric machines)
  • 6-month warranty

Rent Ready

Rent Ready equipment is still in great condition, but has undergone a slightly less comprehensive refurbishment process. The Rent Ready process includes:

  • 200-point inspection
  • Fresh coat of paint (optional)
  • 30-day bumper to bumper warranty
  • New tires if they’re less than 75%
  • Radiator testing (for internal combustion machines)
  • Battery and motor testing with maintenance if needed (for electric machines)

As Is

If your budget is tight and you are looking for something more affordable, or want a lift truck you can fix up yourself, As Is equipment is perfect.  All of the safety features have been inspected and they start at very low prices, so you can make the most of your equipment budget.
