These customers typically buy new equipment on a three- or five-year lease term with a maintenance program ranging from regular operational maintenance intervals to full maintenance coverage. This assures that the equipment is in top operating condition throughout the lease contract term. Once the contract terminates, Barclay acquires this equipment for resale.

Our Short-Term Rental Fleet

Our aggressive rental fleet replenishment program allows customers to try the most recent models and the latest technologies when they have short-term and seasonal equipment needs in their operation.
As more and more advanced technologies are being adopted and built into new industrial warehouse equipment to make it safer, more productive and efficient, we want to ensure we bring that technology to our customers regularly. We outfit our equipment with the latest safety options as they become available, such as:

How We Take the Worry out of Buying Used With Industrial Batteries and Chargers
We follow a similar rental process for our industrial batteries and chargers that power our short-term rental fleet. Our partner, EnerSys, provides us with the latest motive power technologies and the best service and support. We offer low-maintenance power options like Nexsys and Lithium-Ion technology in our rental equipment to reduce the maintenance issues that can develop from overwatering or not following proper charging protocols. This protects the equipment during its rental lifetime.
Our Get Ready and Inspection Process – Quality Guarantee
Customers have three different options when purchasing pre-owned equipment from Barclay:
1. “Barclay-Conditioned”
“Barclay-conditioned” pre-owned equipment is fully reconditioned, top quality and comes with a full warranty. These units are available only after an extensive 300-point inspection and a quality paint job before receiving the final facelift of new tires. Our inspection process covers the following:
- All moving parts
- Fluids
- Safety items
- Cooling systems
- Brakes
- Lift cylinders
- Starters
- Engine
- Drive train
As part of our comprehensive inspection process, we send out the radiators on IC units for testing. As we inspect the motor, we install new brushes on electric units and perform a three-day discharge test on the batteries. If needed, we will replace the battery cells and adjust the acid.
We offer a six-month warranty for all batteries and chargers for units to be “Barclay-conditioned." Compared to our “Rent Ready” process, we put an additional 15 to 20 hours into the detail and painting process.
2. “Rent Ready”
All our “Rent Ready” units undergo a 200-point inspection process, including a 30-day bumper-to-bumper warranty. To ensure units are “Rent Ready,” we perform the following:
- Change the tires if they are less than 75%
- Inspect the radiators and send them out if they're leaking
- Inspect and replace the electric unit motors and brushes if they are less than 75%
- Have all batteries undergo a hydraulic load and specific gravity test
3. “As Is”
“As Is” units are usually those we did not own or maintain over the life of the truck and tend to be more affordable than our “Barclay-Conditioned” and “Rent Ready" options. We inspect all lift truck safety items for proper operation.
