Barclay Celebrates National Forklift Safety Day With a FREE Safety Summit
To celebrate and raise awareness of National Forklift Safety Day this June 12 from 9am to 2pm, please come and visit us the free Safety Summit, where we will offer a food truck lunch, as well as product demonstrations and a Q&A session with OSHA safety experts. This will be a day to learn about OSHA trends, forklift safety, battery handling, fall protection and warehouse pedestrian safety.
The Importance of Forklift Safety
OSHA statistics reveal a shocking truth about forklifts and forklift safety: Nearly 100,000 workers are injured every year in forklift accidents. With an estimated 855,000 forklifts in the United States, that translates to more than 1 in 10 forklifts involved in an accident.
The reasons behind forklift accidents, which cause injury and death, are simple: improper training and carelessness.
As we move towards the fifth annual National Forklift Safety Day, Barclay plans to continue with our tradition of observing and promoting forklift safety. How will we do that?
We Practice Forklift Safety Every Day
- Raise awareness of the importance of operator training
- Believe that safety is paramount
- Dedicate time, energy and resources to the effort
- Recognize the hazards and move to correct them
Today’s forklifts are designed and built with innovative technology that makes them safer, more reliable and more efficient to operate. But unless your operators have the required OSHA training to safely operate them, the equipment is only as safe as your next move. At Barclay, we offer OSHA safety training courses at our South Plainfield Training Facility by an authorized trainer to ensure consistent and continually up-to-date training. The program includes OSHA and ANSI standards and regulations, safe operating practices, and daily check procedures.
